Every bead you find here has been made by me, Lori Flanders, from glass, in my Raleigh, NC studio. I use a torch that runs on a mixture of propane and oxygen to melt rods of glass. As its melting I wind the glass around steel rods that have been coated in clay. Holding the rod Im able to sculpt the glass while it is molten using picks, paddles, and even razor blades.
